Botulinum toxin is a very potent exotoxin produced by Clostridium botulinum. The toxin functions to inhibit Ach release from neural terminals via interfering with the vesicle docking and emptying(which is the same meaning with preventing motor neuron secretory vesicle fuse with neuronal membrane).
Botulinum toxin has no function in choline uptake inhibition. Hemicholinium is responsible for that.
