i have used mtb 2 & 3 for prep, found out i was pathetically weak in obGyn, listened to DIT lectures & imo it helped me quite a lot, as it added info from another book to my prep
I'd say highly recommended for covering your weaknesses; & if you hate reading
Wells, got a copy of SU and watched the first video.
Jenkins covers neurology first.
I thought it was pretty sweet.
Thinking on covering the whole first day tomorrow.
Step Up is only like 200-300 pages, its awesome!
Kinda reminds me of HY Neuroanatomy for step 1 - good stuff!
I think i willhave to push my test date, cuz I was slacking a lot, but hopefully DIT will give me some structure
Done with Day 1.
Covered a bunch of neurology, talked about the test itself: Pretty much all the same ast DIT-1 but the new book.
Good stuff, learned... well, I must admit I have learned some new stuff to the shame of mine...
Which only means that DIT is what I need at this point.
So talking about coma, if you want to examine the brain stem - you put cold water in the ear?
What happens if the brain stem is intact?
SU says: cold water to ear - eyes deviate away - intact brain step.
DiT said that this is a mistake and that if you put ice cold water to the ear - eyes should deviate towards this ear in case if brain stem is intact.
I remember the mnemonic - COWS - Cold-opposite, Warm-same
So is it really the case that SU and me are incorrect?
I'm not sure I took UWSA then DIT then I took NBME and my score was lower lool
it's different not as good for step 2 as it was for step 1
step 1 high recommended
step 2 I would say it's lower end of average (4.9/10)
