Not mandatory
If you have the time and the money then I recommend you watch the videos. They will solidify your knowledge and make you retain the information for longer time.
However, that does not mean that the videos are absolutely mandatory. I know a couple of people who got 95 and 98 without looking at the videos (as they said).
