Unhappy Passed all the steps but ECFMG certification delayed
Hi guys!!

I am going through a bit of a weird situation..
I am done with step 1, 2 ck and 2cs..but my certificates like transcript and diploma haven't been verified so i havent got the ecfmg certification.. And it seems it wont be possible for me to have certification till october ..
Will this hurt my chances of getting interviews??... I am totally pissed off because i dont know why but two times when ecfmg sent the documents to my college and for some weird reason it hasnt gotten verified yet??
I am really worried that it might have an effect in the overall outcome...
Can anyone please advice me on this???

And two more questions..
1. Can I have my ECFMG send my documents to my university via DHL by extra payment ??
2. Can I have my university send ECFMG the CERTIFICATE VERIFICATION STATEMENT via DHL?

If you don't get your ECFMG certificate until October, your chances of getting interviews will be way less than those who apply in early September.

Yes, you can ask the ECFMG to send your documents by DHL or FedEx and you can ask your school to send the documents to ECFMG by DHL or FedEx.

ECFMG usually prefers FedEx.

One point, they may tell you that they have to wait three months before they try again. So tell them that you can't wait for three months because the match is coming.

So go ahead and call the ECFMC. They'll open in one hour (one hour after the time of my post here).

You have to open an account with fedex. You have to write a letter to ecfmg authorizing them to use your account, sign the letter and fax it to their address. If you request them, they will send the letter early. I was exactly in a similar situation. TC

hey!

my college sent the documents and then i reachieved the receipt from them too( the one that says it was delivered to ECFMG and collected by a person there). but neither has ECFMG sent me a mail nor verified it. it has been over 1 and half months now??

what should i do??

hey usmleguy..
did u speak to ur college people? had they sent ur documents?
did ecfmg ask you to tell them if and who collected ur verified documents?

plz help me out here.am very confused!

@medicine: you should probably call ECFMG and ask them about your status of certificate verification... and if they havent received it then ask them again to send it back to ur medical college..

I just ran into one of the most weird situations..If it wasn't for this forum I would have lost my way a long way back..So would like to thank the forum staffs from the bottom of my heart and specially to steptaker bcoz he has always responded when i had any question..

Well I have another situation here (don't know why this always happens to me..)

As an advice from you guys I told ECFMG to send the documents again but on the same day that they sent the documents here, the previously sent document (sent on Mid-May) by ECFMG arrived in my medical university..so it wasnt lost after all..and i told them to send it via DHL and also paid for it..and will probably arrive in few days time.. when I checked the OASIS they have already changed the Sent date to June 23 (ie for the new one)... Now will they take in the verified document sent from my university (originally sent by ECFMG at mid May) or will they ask the one sent at June 23 to be verified..if latter is the case i am screwed bigggggggg time......

The ECFMG will process whatever response reaches them first, if another (second) response reached them then you will be in trouble.
Therefore, you have to contact your college and make sure they don't reply to the second package.

hey guys..can any1 help me out...

my credential verification was sent from ecfmg to my med school india on 26th july but it hasn't reached yet....

reading all post about credential verification prob making me apprehensv....

its been nw 3wks sinc they hav postd ...

can any1 tell how many does it take 4 mail to reach normally to med school 4m ecfmg?
...is it normal airmail or courier?
should i wait or do i call up ecfmg ???

Changing the sent date means ECFMG resent the verification form to your school, because the form they had received was incompletely filled.

That's happened to me.

How much time does the document take to reach the college from ecfmg ? it has been over 4 weeks now.

ECFMG told me that it will take a month to reach the college ,few more days left ,then it ll be 1 month ,after that don't know what to do coz they have told me that they can't send it till 3 months of previous mail..if it happens then this time i ll ask them to send it through courier which I will pay .
