Registration My application was rejected

I had send all the forms as required and everything sometime in mid march as a graduate for step 1...since then I got a letter form ECFMG office asking me for 2 forms again that I had already send to them like in may sometime..and now when i called them to ask how long will it take before I get my scheduling permit they told me that my application was rejected as they did not have verification from my medical school for which they had send me an e-mail too (but I didn't get any e-mail from them).
They also told me that it is there job to obtain the verification from my medical school. Now am confused..if they still have to obtain the verification then how come they are telling me my form is rejected.

What do I do now?? do I need to apply again?? please answer me as soon as possible..

Default You cannot be rejected because of delay

Your application cannot be rejected simply because your medical school did not answer them. There must be something wrong.

What does it state in your OASIS account, regarding the following:
  • Certificate of Identification
  • Medical Education Credentials
Check these and reply me, I will tell you what to do

thanks a lot for your prompt reply. I checked my OASIS account as you asked me to.
1) for certificate of identification it states valid from 21oct 2010 -21 Oct 2015
2) for medical education credentials, I understand they are asking for form 344 and form 345. I have send both these forms along with a photocopy of my medical diploma and my medical school marks transcripts. I had send them all the documents and everything required as listed when I had filled the form.

When I spoke to the USMLE representative she told me they have got all the documents and she asked me to reapply for the same exam again online. She told me only the verification from my medical school is left and I need not submit any other form again. so that is what going on..

What do you suggest I should do now?

So your application is not rejected. In your first post you said that your application was rejected!

What you can do now, is check with your college, it seems that they did not reply to ECFMG forms.

hey !!

In the first post of mine to you I said my application is rejected because it is showing 'rejected' in my OASIS account after talking to the representative there she told me they have all the documents as required and all is that is left is just the verification, that's why I was confused.

Anyway, it's good news that you application is not rejected.
I just wanted to inform the readers that applications do not get rejected simply because the medical school did not reply or was late in reply.
I still don't think that your OASIS account is mentioning the term "Rejected". They usually say "pending" or "deficient". Rejected means that your application was completely disapproved and you have to take drastic measures to rectify the status.
Rejections, happens for example when a medical student applies to the test before finishing basic medical sciences or for instance when the medical school is not listed IMED, ...etc

Application rejected only means that online part of your application was rejected. And you will have to make a new online application. I can say this because my application was rejected first time as I had made a mistake. And it was accepted the second time.

Online verification of application is fast. But paper verification can take upto 3-4 weeks.

Default hi

hello deeqwetry
hello all
I face the problem that you faced before: my online application rejected but my paper has been accepted.
What was the mistake on your on line application?
and when I checked OASIS i found that ( medical education credentials not received),do you think this is the problem?
should my paper verified before i take the step 1 exam?
looking forward to hearing from you.....

I had not enlisted credits properly.

No it has nothing to do with your credentials.

You can take step 1 exam after your online application has been accepted.
However, you must have got an email stating the error in your application. So, be careful and avoid making the same mistake again.

Default hi

HELLO ALL

I just recieved this email from ECFMG

August 10, 2011

Dear Doctor,

Please be advised that ECFMG® has received a copy of a medical diploma from the( ) University Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences along with your Certification of Identification (Form 186) on July 7, 2011. However, because ECFMG does not have a sample copy of the final diploma awarded by your medical school in our reference files, we are unable to determine if the document you submitted is the official final diploma issued by your university.

Consequently, we ask that you contact your medical school to provide a sample copy of the final medical school diploma to ECFMG. The sample copy must accompany a letter signed by a Medical School Official (Dean, Vice Dean, or Registrar) on the school’s letterhead indicating that the attached sample copy is the official final medical school diploma issued by your university and that this document would allow the holder to seek medical licensure in ****. We also ask that the letter states the first year this diploma design was awarded.

ECFMG must receive this letter by mail to confirm that it was posted from the medical school. We cannot accept this letter by fax. This letter can be mailed to my attention at the following address:

ECFMG
**************
This letter may also be sent via email in PDF format to the email address, info@ecfmg.org. Please ensure that if your school sends this document via email that they place “Attention ****” in the subject line so that I receive their correspondence without delay.

Finally, if your medical school sends the aforementioned document via email, please ensure that the medical school official sends the email from his email account at the medical school so ECFMG can determine this document came directly from the school.

Sincerely,
Credentials@ecfmg.org
************************************************** ******************
So there is one point
My final medical school diploma is not in english and I

accompanied it by an English translation when I sent my paper with 186 form.
So should I sent the diploma and the english translation to my university and they forward it to ECFMG(I reside in another country from which I graduated) or should my university issued the new diploma with english language and send it?

Default My ECFMG application rejected

Hi !

I' m a medical graduate and i attempt to Step 1 nearly 4 months ago. I sent my all documents in translated format.

Two days ago i received a mail from ECFMG that says my medical diploma is not same with sample that ECFMG have. They said that they had sent a mail to my medical school but, although i contacted my school several times thay stated that they never received such a mail from ECFMG .At the same day my OASIS application status turned from Processing to "REJECTED".

So the point is; i'm very anxious and angry now ! Because every new document is requested by ECFMG causes me to 1000 km flight to another city. It's money and time wasting.

Is this reason enough to reject my application ? What should i do now ?

Please i need all kind of suggestion...

Hi odysseus

I feel sorry to hear that hope your application approved as soon as possible.
Can you put the ECFMG email here so someone may help you.

I advise you to call ECFMG and understand well what is the problem.

And you can ask your colleagues what are the(EXACT) documents needed.
maybe your colleage change the design of the diploma in this year!!
does there anyone of your colleagues(graduated at same year of you) sent his papers and accepted?
Usually ECFMG sent papers by regular mail it may take long time (one month)or more!!
and if you can issue all documents by english this will help you.
Good luck

Default Application rejected twice

HI I GOT MAIL LIKE THIS FROM ECFMG CAN ANY ONE HELP ME WITH THIS?
MY 186 FORM IS APPROVED AND VALIDITY IS UPTO 16TH JUNE 2020.

Dear Doctor:

ECFMG is unable to process your recent USMLE application. Please refer to the attached letter for details on the specific reason the application can not be processed and for instructions on reapplication.

Examination and Certification Services
ECFMG

DEFICIENCY LETTER SHOWS...AS FOLLOW

Dear Doctor:

The Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) is unable to process your
recent application for the USMLE Step 1 for the reason described below.

You certified you graduated from medical school. However, you did not submit a photocopy of your final medical diploma, a graduation letter, or an official English translation of the diploma or graduation letter.

In order to be registered for this examination you must first reapply for the examination online atwww.ecfmg.org <http://www.ecfmg.org>. Then ECFMG requires a photocopy of the final medicaldiploma in the original language with the appropriate signature(s) and issue date.

If you have graduated and met all requirements for your medical diploma but your medical diploma has not yet been issued, a current, full-face, passport-sized, color photograph and a letter signed by an authorized official of your medical school must be submitted with your exam application. The
letter you submit must be the original document and must be written on your medical school’s letterhead. The letter must include the following statement:
This is to confirm that [applicant name] has graduated and completed all
requirements to receive the [degree title] degree from [medical school/university name]. The degree will be issued [month and year].

You must then send the photocopies of your medical diploma to ECFMG as soon as your diplomais issued.

Any document submitted to ECFMG that is not in English must be accompanied by an Englishtranslation that meets ECFMG's translation standards. The English translation must: be prepared by a government official (for example, a Consular Officer), medical school official (for example, a Dean or Registrar), or a professional translation service.
- include a statement from the government or medical school official or representative of the translation service certifying that the translation is correct.

appear on letterhead. If the translation service is a private company, the letterhead must identify the company as a translation service.

- bear the signature and title of the government or medical school official or representative of the translation service and, if there is one, the seal of the government official, medical school, or translation service.

- be a word-for-word translation of the original language document. An abstract or summary translation of the document is not acceptable.
- be prepared from the original document or a photocopy of the original document.

ECFMG will not accept a translation prepared from a transcription (transcribed version) of the
document.

An English language certificate issued by the medical school that is not a word-for-word English
language version of the degree, transcript, or other document in the original language is not acceptable as a translation. The translation must be prepared from the original document or a photocopy of the original document.

ECFMG will not accept a copy of a medical diploma or graduation letter that is not in English without an official English translation. Likewise, ECFMG will not accept an English translation without a copy of the original language document from which the translation was prepared.

To be registered for Step 1 , you must reapply by submitting a new online application completed in its entirety.

Note, if your application is rejected, the money you had paid for that application will automaticallybe credited to your ECFMG financial account. Thus, when you apply again using IWA, you may select the “Use my credit towards my total due” option in the payment section of the application.
