Calendar Changing Eligibility Period

I logged in to my account in ECFMG and checked my status, but it says its still in the process.

They sent me a notification before and they said that they just got the identification form I sent them and until now, there's really nothing new. So how do I change my eligibility period? Where do I go? coz I accessed my information at OASIS, but I didn't see the part where I can change it.

Thanks a lot!!!

There are two parts of your application process:
Online part then processing by ECFMG.

If more than 3 weeks have passed since you finished your online application and you did not receive your scheduling permit then there must be something wrong. When your scheduling permit is ready you'll receive an email from ECFMG telling you that it's ready and you'll be able to print it out from your OASIS account.

When you access OASIS you should see the exam that you applied to and it's status as "accepted" if not then most probably you have a problem with Form 186.

Here I quote for you the particular paragraph from ECFMG:

If you complete a "Certification of Identification Form (Form 186) - Certification by Medical School Official" or a "Certification of Identification Form (Form 186) - Certification by Notary Public and Medical School Official," your Form 186 must be sent to ECFMG directly from the office of the medical school official who signed the form. If the form is not sent to ECFMG from the office of the medical school official, it will not be accepted.

For further details about ECFMG registration please have a look here
ECFMG Registration Steps

Once your scheduling permit is ready and it mentions your eligibility period you can contact ECFMG by telephone and ask them to extend it for you.

There are two pages that help give you more info about eligibility extension these are:
https://iwa2.ecfmg.org/epex/AllInstructions.asp
and
https://iwa2.ecfmg.org/epex/epexoverview.asp

Thanks Sabio,

Once again this forum has been really helping me big time with regards to my queries about usmle...i was looking for answers to these questions all over the internet, but to no avail.

I went to the link that you sent me, and i was surprised that there is a fee for changing the eligibility period.. but it doesnt say how much...would you have any idea how much it costs?

Thanks soooo much!

Wink re: changing eligibility period

Sorry Sabio,

I actually found the answer to my question...its in the other link you sent me! haha sorry, my bad...

it's actually $50, in Philippine pesos that's around 2,500...whew! thats alot of money just for changing a schedule...oh well, i guess i still really need to do that instead of sacrificing my test score if i take it next month!

Thanks Again!!
