Calendar My extended eligibility period ending.

Please help me!!!
I applied for step 1 exam but still I didn't try to get a specific appointment schedule test day and I didn't contact any prometric center. Now I am on extended eligibility period. I really prefer not to take the exam on my extended period, which ends on Feb, 29. I'm not ready to take the exam at all, I have to fix family and personal issues first. Do I have to send another 186 form if I want to reapply for the exam?? And does it affect me in the future if I didn't take the exam within the eligibility period?? I'm a bit confused
I really do appreciate any replies!

Arrow nope

if you have extended your period to another one ( costs 60 $ ) and it ended. u can't get a further extension and the only thing u will lose is the 920 $ u paid for ur application....

if u didn't schedule or u scheduled and cancelled....it won't be counted as an attempt....so nothing to worry about.

regarding re-application, just do the usual work for a new application.

that's all

best regards

Hello,

i am curious how long did it take you until you got your new eligibility period?

so 2 weeks you had to wait until reapplying, and then how long after that?

thanks!!

Default Step 1 cancelled due to technical problems

Hello maybe somebody can help me clarify something.
My step 1 exam was near the end of my extended eligibility period.
the exam got cancelled because of technical problems at the prometric center. because it was in my extended eligibility period would I have to pay again for the exam? I'm confused don't know what to do? They said would take about 2 weeks to reschedule but my eligibility period would be done by then anyone know what I have to do??

Hi, i have a similar problem. Do you have to call up ecfmg also for cancellation? (i have already cancelled my appointment with prometric).
Also, how long does it take once u reapply? (on top of the 2 weeks mentioned in the information booklet)

i am having similar problem...

im also on extended eligibility period and it will end in 3 weeks.
but i couldn't find any available schedule in local pro metric center..

so im concerned about "how to cancel" my exam..

should i just wait till my eligibility period to be over and reapply after a month?
(won't it be considered as no-show hence failed attempt?)
or do i have to contact ECFGM personally to cancel my exam??

if i cancel and reapply, do i still need to pay whole exam application fee 900+US$??

I heard that you can reapply right after? Meaning my range expires jan 31 I can reapply feb 1. But i'm not sure, everyone says something different. I might have to call ecmfg. My school gave me a deadline of march 31st. So i'm not sure if documents will get there in time?? All that needs to be done is my school sending form 186 to ECMFG. Then just waiting for that. It only took 2 weeks last time though.
