Question Second Year Indian Medical Student; Eligibility for USMLE

I have just completed my 2nd year medical school exams yesterday The results will be out in 2 month
MBBS from India by the way.

According to the ECFMG to be eligible to apply for step 1, completion is the First 2 years of medical school is mandatory.

1. Does that imply that I need to pass the second year exams? because in India we can move on to the 3rd year irrespective of our pass/fail status in 2nd year.....ie do I have to wait for my results (2 months) to be eligible to apply?

2. What are medical school transcripts? What would they be in my case (third year med student) Do they mean the marks sheet given by the university?

3. How long does the process take?

Sorry for so many questions .... I would appreciate advice from anyone...
also would really like input from the administrators...

Thanks in advance...!!

The ECFMG does not need you to pass the exam, they just want you to have taken all the basic sciences courses.

How do you prove that?

By sending them a transcript (mark sheet), telling them how many units in each basic medical science you have completed.
