Registration ECFMG Registration and Planning Exam Date?

Hello.

I received my scheduling permit for step 1 and im a bit confused about about when would be appropriate time to lick a bit. I plan to sit for the exam on December and want to hold on a bit (maybe a month or two) before I pick a date. say I plan to give the exam in the last week of December when is the latest that I can pick a date? can do it sometime around July or even later? Will it be too late? actually I dont quite know when ill be completely prepared so need some time to figure it out.

Also how do I know when (how long after ur step 1 app has been accepted) the ecfmg sends out the medical education credential form and 327 to my medical university. I called the ecfmg and they said its takes around 6-8 weeks time and that they haven't sent it yet. will I be notified when they send it out. I need to know the tentative time cos I have to inform a friend at my medical school to help me out. need some enlightenment guys.

Please help me out .

-i think you can even fix a date within the week you want to write as long as it falls within your eligibility period. i have not written yet but my friend fixed his date on a Friday and wrote the exam the next Monday (i.e within 3 days)

-to ur 2nd question, i dont think you need bother. i doubt you will know when your college receives the letter from ecfmg. all they need do is endorse u were one of them. if ecfmg does not get the reply as at when due, they will send another letter to ur college and notify u a 2nd time.

that will not prevent you from writing your exams or even starting ur residency

You said that you have received your scheduling permit. This means that you have selected an eligibility period. What's your eligibility period?

Tell your friend to check every week for the next 6-8 weeks, that's the only way to keep track.

You will be notified when ECFMG sends 327A to your college.
You will find in your OASIS the date when ECFMG has sent out the form. Also you will received a postal mail that ECFMG has sent 327A to your college.

Yes you should be able to finish all steps before September 2013.

Default to xpabisekh abd sabio.

Guys they have now updated my oasis and finally it mentions about 327A .it says it was sent on the 25 th of may. The date received column is empty as its supposed to be but surprisingly on the status it says:medical credential received and awaiting verification.is that a mistake. I don't think the documents have been sent by university.what's going on.

Also as my eligibility period is oct-nov-dec when would be a good time to pick my test date.will it be too late if I do it around October as I plan to take to exam in December?
