Calendar Any way to preregister for 2013 eligibility period

Hey guys,

I am an IMG and I've to leave my country by Sept of this year. I want to get my credentials verified by my med school before that but I cant give my step 1 before March-April 2013. Apparently on ECFMG, they are only showing eligibility periods till the 2012.
Is there any way to register for next year even if go for an extension, I can't make it till April next year.
Can anyone help me in this regard??

There is no way that you can register for 2013 eligibility period now, the eligibility period will open in September 2012.

However, I don't see the reason why you want to register before you leave your country, you can register for the exam later when you are outside the country.

I have the same issue as the questioner above. I'm immigrating to the US in about 6 weeks and I wanted to get my step 1 paper work done while I am here. I want to give my step 1 in march 2013 but I see that I can't pre-register like that. However, I want to know, if I apply for Step 2 CS instead, I could still get a lot of the paperwork out of the way... is that true?
