Can you correct your name in the passport?

If not, then you have to work on your med school papers to change them all and also contact the ECFMG for a change of name.

Unhappy Cannnot change my name in passport

Thanks steptaker but i have received my scheduling permit and my exam will be after 3 weeks from now.

The problem is in the last letter only but the all the name is all right and gives the same meaning ..
The stupid employee in the passport administration wrote i instead of y and it's very difficult here in Egypt to correct such mistake .. Although i wrote it in the right way in the passport form , the stupid employee wrote it in his way

Am afraid they won't let you take the exam because the Prometric supervisor will cross check with your passport.

One thing you can do, call the Prometric Center where you are taking the exam and ask them if it is OK.

But generally name problems have to be corrected sooner or later, if you want to start a career in US this issue will haunt you forever, better correct it now.

I have an Egyptian friend, he was able to correct his name in the Passport.
