Question ReApplying for Step 1, how long it takes for the permit

Hi,

I hav my exam in the end of this month, which for some reasons i will not be able to take it ... Now since i wish to take the exam by about 10th November, my question is ... how many days after cancellation of the exam in the extended period and reapplying again, will i b able to get the new permit, so tht i can take the exam ???

My Permit for this slot is over and i need to reapply ... and My Credentials are verified ... so tht means it should not take more than a week, i guess to get the new permit ...

Does anyone has a similar experience ??? or can anyone advise regarding the same ???

Yes. You are right.
Since your credentials are already verified and your status did not change (student/graduate). Then your new scheduling permit shouldnt take more than a week.

Thanx a zillion, Step Taker.

however, somehwere on this forum in ECFMG section only, i saw someone writing tht applying again and getting the permit would rather take 3 weeks or so time ..... i remember my CS Permit or even this permit coming to me within 1 week since i am verified .. now since not taking the exam will put this status on my record - " did not schedule or did not take " but tht record does not come within 3 weeks to get updated .. in this time frame, can i begin my new application .. Eg- since my period end on 31st Oct - can i reapply on 1st November .. for the new application ??? and get the permit by 7th NOvember ?

Also, so this means we can apply as many times as we wish until we take the exam, it would NOT mean any "attempt" even in the history of application process, .. so does the application history taken into account ..like the 3 time rule - tht if incompleted, then the person cant take the test atleast for the next 12 months ???

Kindly Guide .. thnx
