Question Can you register for the Step 1 and CS/CK exam if diploma isn't out yet

I posted this question before, but I don't know what happened to the thread. It got deleted, and I cannot find it.

Anyway, my school has delayed my M.D degree, and I am afraid I wont be go according to my schedule. Therefore, I wanted to know if I can register for the exams, Step 1 and CS specifically, and send my transcript/diploma later? I have a mock diploma, and a letter from my University stating that my degree will be given in December.

I plan to take Step 1 somewhere in March, and CS in April. I am afraid, I wont be able to sit for CS, since the seats are very packed. Therefore, I want to book it from now. My schedule is really tight, so I can't mess with any of the dates.

Is it possible? Has anyone tried such a thing? Can I reserve the seats at least?

Thanks a ton!

Okay I called the ECFMG office. They said I can still register and apply for the exam, and book a date, just by sending Form 186 and a letter stating the date my diploma will be out.

Later on when its out, I can send in form 344, and 345 with the 2 copies of the diploma, and photograph. I can mail them myself to the ECFMG.

Also, they don't accept any kind of mock diploma.

Hope this helps anyone in a similar situation.!
