Question Will graduate by time I extend!

My original eligibilty period is oct/nov/dec 2012
i want to extend it thru jan/ feb/march 2013
I graduate in dec 2012 and will receive my diploma in feb 2013
When i applied for my present slot i filled the form 183
Now after filling the online request for extension, which form will i need to fill, form 186 or 183-E?
Will ecfmg again verify my status ?

I would recommend "call ecfmg helpline and ask them". They will able to give you exact answer. As most of us don't face this dilemma. So not sure about this.
May sabio or steptaker have any information.

If you request the extension right now (before you graduate) then there won't be any form you fill out and the ECFMG will verify your student status again with your college.

But if you wait until you graduate then you need to send them form 186.

The deadline for your extension is January 25, 2013. You have to request the extension before that date.

You can not change your status from student to graduate by simply applying in IWA, you have to call them, so that they allow a new online application in order for you to be able to change your status.

Thanks! That means now I am extending as a student, all that i would need to do is fill up the online request for the extension and pay the extension fees.. and ecfmg will send me my new scheduling permit. They wont need me to fill up any new form as of now (186/183-E), to verify my status from the medical school?? Please correct me if I am wrong..
