Here's the paragraph mentioned in ECFMG website https://iwa2.ecfmg.org/studentinstruct.asp

item 4. Testing Region and International Test Delivery Surcharge (Step 1 and Step 2 CK only)
Select a Testing Region from the list. You should refer to the Prometric website for information on test centers in specific testing regions. Additionally, if you plan to test in Egypt, Hong Kong, India, or Israel, refer to the special information below. After you submit the on-line part of your application, you cannot change the Testing Region you selected.

My friend was able to change his testing center from New Zealand to Dubai

But I think he paid $50 for that

sharvaree19 -- you have to call them, it's not enough to email them, you have to call them

yes I agree! u gotta call them!

well, good news for me. I called them, and apparently you can change your testing region, but you have to send ECFMG a fax stating that you want a change.

If you change from India to US, there's no charge.

US to India, you gotta pay the surcharge.

Woow, that great news for you

It's really amusing that they you have to pay from US to India but not from India to US
