Question Eligibility period extension

Hello doctors...I set my exam on 25 April(which is the last date in my eligibility period),but I won't be able to take it at that time as I'm still half the way in my preparation, beside I have to change my exam center....So on the Prometic confirmation email it says:
If you are unable to take the test within your eligibility period, contact your registration entity to inquire about a one-time eligibility period extension. A fee is charged for this service, and some restrictions may apply.

The date that you change your appointment, using local time of the RRC, will determine whether you pay an appointment change fee and the amount of this fee:

- If you change your appointment 31 or more days before (but not including) the first day of your scheduled test date, there is no fee.

So does that mean I have to call ECFMG to ask for extension or there is something I have to do it online. Also I should cancel my original exam date, right? how can I do that? and how much should I pay>>>thanks in advance..

you can get an extension on your eligibility period ONE TIME only for a fee of $50.

i think you have to cancel your current appointment and then reschedule a new one. as long as you do it 31 days before the appointment date, it's free of charge.
