Question Graduation Date Dilemma

Need help Forums experts and ppl
I finished my internship in May 2012
applied for step1 with letter from college saying 'I have met criteria for Final diploma certificate in August 2012'.
Received Final degree in March 2013 which says i graduated on March 2013
SO what does ECFMG considers as graduation date??
The letter from my college saying i met criteria for diploma(Aug'12)? Or my actual final diploma (March'13)??
Please do let me know..
thanks a lot.

Your graduation date is the date on your final graduation diploma, that's what ECFMG considers.

Thanks Sabio..
But i have another doubt.. What is my status until i receive my Final degree certificate then? We certify in ECFMG saying 'I'm graduate but haven't received the degree yet', So is the difference in period (time till degree received) shown in any of the ECFMG transcripts or documents?? or It is still considered as student status??
