Mail Postpone sending documents to ECFMG

hi, i have submitted my online application to ECFMG for step 1 exam few days ago..and i am planning to send my documents in the next few days..but i have a problem..suddenly today, my working place told me to postpone my exam schedule, which is on this October-december 2013 period...
what should i do? the instruction in ECFMG website is to send my documents as soon as possible but, i am afraid that if i send my documents right now..i'll be registered to do the exam in that period..
is it ok if i withhold sending my documents in a purpose so that i won't be registered for the exam in that period?
if it is not ok,what should i do?

thx u,

best regards, Jeansen

have you paid, if yes than you have to send the documents, and extend your eligibility period.

Thanks shima for your clarification. Would you please clarify a doubt of mine? I'm a medical graduate from India. I'v completed the application for ecfmg certification and paid $60. I want to apply for step 1 , but due to some reason i'm yet undecided when i'm going to take the exam (step 1) and can't select the eligibility period at this moment. So should I postpone filling the application for the step and thus postpone paying the fee? I wanted to get verification step completed as it would take quite some time. But I guess now its not possible without paying the fee for the step. Please clarify. Thanks
