Question How early we can apply for eligibility period?

hey guys!
In how much advance can you apply for a usmle step 1 eligibility period?

For example Can I apply for eligibility period 1 year before?
And If I apply as a student, do I have to be enrolled till the eligibility period or is it ok if I am to graduate before the eligibility period? (I will be applying in my final year for eligibility period after a gap of at least one year)

The earliest you can is about one year.

Each September the eligibility period for the next year opens up.

So for example you can apply for September/October/November 2014 eligibility period as early as September 2013.

If you change your status from student to graduate before your eligibility period then your college should contact the ECFMG and informs them of the change otherwise the ECFMG will not release the results to you or to your school.
