Registration Withholding USMLE Score from my Medical School

While reading around in the forum i came around a thread which says that
the ecfmg needs to make sure that you're still a student both when you submit your application AND at the time of your exam. Therefore they send a verification form to school to confirm enrollment as a student at the time of my exam and they need to receive verification from school so they can release my score.
Is this the case with every student?

The other doubt which i have is that in my IWA there is a a new folder after my form 183 acceptance which reads
submission for a request to have the exam results for this Step 1 withheld from your medical school** .I have copied the whole folder from my IWA as follows:
ECFMG may provide international medical schools with data on the performance of their students and graduates who apply to ECFMG for USMLE Step 1, Step 2 Clinical Knowledge (CK), and/or Step 2 Clinical Skills (CS). Click here for more details. To have the results of this Step 1 administration withheld from your medical school, you must complete the following request.

By clicking "Submit" below, you agree to the following conditions:

I request to have the results of this Step 1 administration withheld from my medical school.

I understand that my request is applicable only to this Step 1 administration and that I am required to submit a separate request for each Step 1 administration for which I want the results withheld from my medical school.

I understand that I will not be able to reverse this decision to withhold the results of this Step 1 administration from my medical school.

I understand that if I subsequently want to have the results of this Step 1 administration reported to my medical school, I will be required to request and pay for a USMLE transcript.

I understand that if my medical school is eligible to receive performance data on its students and graduates, the information provided to the medical school for this Step 1 administration will list my name, USMLE/ECFMG Identification Number, the examination, and a notation that the exam results have been withheld at my request.

I understand that this request applies only to the reporting of individual performance data to my medical school. If my school is eligible to receive aggregate performance data on its students and graduates, my performance data will not be excluded from this report as a result of this request.

If i accept to witheld my score reports will ECFMG still send the studemt verification form to my school at the time of my appearnce of my exam.
This will free me off the hassles the next time.

Please guys help me with this.

Thanks

P.S. My school is not a part of EMSWP.

Default You don't need it

You don't need to do that. This is pertaining to your exam results only and it has nothing to do with verification of credentials.

As long as you have a valid Form 186 you can take the exam and they won't ask you to re-verify your student status. However, if you graduate before the exam date you must inform the ECFMG that you have graduated and that time they'll ask your school verify your graduation status.

Thanx for the reply.
so it means if i dont submit my form it wont have any effect on reverification of my student status.
Is it just a matter of privacy.
Can you specify me the advantages or disadvantages of accepting this option?

I have a valid form 183 and will be student during my eligibility period.
Do they reverify my student status at the time of releasing my scores?
I am quiet confused due to following post
Took step 1 on the 25th Aug and no score
I hope i am able to specify the problem?

The only advantage of accepting that option is that your school will not see your exam results and that's it.

I know that you have been confused because of that thread. But to the best of my knowledge and due to the experiences I've seen with my friends and colleagues, nobody was asked to re-verify his student status as long as his/her Form 186 is valid.
