Question A couple questions about translations

I'm a foreign medical graduate now living in the US and getting ready to apply for Step 1. I had a few (hopefully quick) questions about translations.

First, my US passport, driver's license, and other forms of ID list only my first and last name, but my medical diploma lists my name as first name, last name, and patronymic. Will I have to submit separate documentation to prove that I'm the same person or is it okay to have a middle name/patronymic listed in one place and not the other?

Second, when applying for the exam, do I need to submit a copy of my diploma and transcript with translations, or only my diploma? From the instructions, it sounded like my medical school is supposed to send the transcripts, but the translators in my country don't tend to be very good, especially at American English.

Finally, does anybody know any good Russian-English translation services with experience translating for ECFMG? Searching the ATA website turned up more than 300, none in my state, and I'm not sure how best to narrow it down.

Thanks in advance for any help!

A patronymic suffix may not result in significant issues. You can get around this issue by asking the translator to drop the patronymic suffix in the translation.

Yes, you are right. You'll be sending translated Diploma to ECFMG and your school will be sending translated transcript to ECFMG, you have to make sure that your name is the same in both of these and that they are identical to your US documents.

As for which translation company, I don't think it matters, as long as the translator is ATA certified, they are all the same.
