Registration ECFMG ICS (EICS) & test application

Dear all,

Thank you for the previous treads. I've been trying to sum up info from them and also other posts from other topics, but I still feel bewildered.

1. I have USMLE number and I have completed the ECFMG on-line application successfully. The ECFMG email ends with, citing :"You may now proceed with the Interactive Web Applications (IWA) for the USMLE examination(s)."
As far as I see it, this means that I can continue finishing the documentation process with ECFMG (see below for eligibility to sit the test).

Somewhere I read that I need to supply the documentation when applying to sit USMLE test, and from other sources I read that I should do it before the test.
So, what is the final solution - Can I sit the test before the documentation process is over?

2. I had my credentials verified previously with EICS for the purposes of the Australian Medical Council examinations. If I am not mistaken, I still need?! to submit my credentials although they have been verified by the same body (I have EICS number). In one of the threads here lee-usmle suggests that even if you have been verified you still have to submit documents. However, he says that process will be smoother. How do I let ECFMG that I had previously submitted credentials (is there any specific form)?
Just wanted to confirm this.

Thank you!

We really don't have much experience with your special situation. I suggest you contact the ECFMG directly and see if they'd extend your previous verification for the USMLE exam.

As for whether documentation needed before or after the exam, there no answer for that, we've have seen both cases and the ECFMG is not clear about it's policy in that regard.
