Calendar How far in advance I should schedule my exam?

Hi All,

I'm still new to the process and need to know how long in advance should I register for the Step 1 exam ?

I'm still not sure where I'll take my exam, may be in Cairo and may be in USA and for that reason I still need more time to decide.

I knew from a friend that I may need 6 months in advance and others says 45 days

I had the same problem I wasn't sure where or when I will have the exam
I did schedule for (April May June ) start process or registration in 25 Jan send my document to my collage in Feb and my collage send it to ECFMG in 14 Feb reach ECFMG in 3 March they accept form 168 and in 9 March send me my schedule permits
so my advise to u schedule but dont choose the date of exam
for example today is 24 may and still there is a seat for 30 may in Prometric
go to Prometric and check always

this is my case maybe ur collage doesn't send ur document as fast as my collage

I will change my address after few months!
List of documents to be sent to my college
Form 186 issue (notary public)
Unsure of Exam location, should I register?
