I think its more of a tension headache that your getting than migraine. Sometimes tension headaches can be really bad. I used to get them all the time the day before my internals, finals, etc.
Just try to keep yourself calm and it will bring it down a lot. If you think about it... You do better when your calm than when you get stressed/tensed. So just take a deep breath every time you get tensed and tell yourself "All these people did it. And I have gotten this far in life. So I can do it too!"
Hopefully it helps you release some tension.

If it is tension headache, I get that a LOT. Hehehe! What works for me is 1 capsule of Celecoxib 400mg (Celebrex). It takes away my headache in 10 mins.

i don't know what type of headache is this but i have pain right behind eyes, more like eye muscle pains and a general headache together, indigestion and nausea from my teens. So I induce the vomiting in the evening and i feel fine by the next day morning. I just use acetaminophen 500mg when i have important stuff to do that day or just ignore that. I get this usually around my exams or internals when i am stressed..sometimes just like that when i am not stressed.
I am thinking nicotine in the tea is causing these symptoms some times, but i don't drink tea that often or in large amounts. the whole year i stopped drinking tea but still got it.
what is this? is this migraine?

i hope i could agree with you guys .but its not tension headache.i get classical symptoms of migraine half head intense throbbing pain, cannot open eyes properly and i m confused during the attack.
yes tension may be a triggering factor for migraine

my pain gets relieved by ergotamine .but have not tried sumatriptan .
but pain has come back in 3 hours since i took meds.
was just wondering if i get this on the exam day ,does the migraine meds reduce the brain performance

My aunt in the US gets severe migraines and sumatriptan (injected subcutaneously) does wonders for her. She says when she feels the prodrome, she injects it, and then feels fine. I think you should try it while the exam is still a few weeks away. You can see for yourself if it makes you feel less alert.

Your question is very hard to answer. How about rescheduling the exam? Low 50s is not good... I'm both doing usmleworld and working on my weak areas. Building up these areas takes more time than I thought...

thank you for your reply. In the blogspot someone posted, I am in the low 80s equivalent basing it on my usmleworld average. I really have no idea if I should reschedule it since my eligibility period is only until feb havent taken an NBE too.

Have you tried extending your eligibility? I haven't taken the exam yet so I don't think I'm in the best position to give advice at such a critical time period.

I extended my eligibility period from Jan - March to April - June. But I haven't scheduled my exam yet at prometrics then.

Extending the eligibility period is very easy. You just have to go to your IWA account and click the eligibility extension link. After a few more clicks, pay $65 through credit card then that's it.

As for rescheduling the exam at prometrics, I don't know about that. But I'll simply call my prometric center to inquire.

If it does cost $165, don't you think it would be worth it? Why risk a low score when you can easily prevent it?
