I'd drink whatever I've been using during the last months of my step 1 preparation because that is what my body will be used to on the exam day.

Sudden caffeine/energy drink withdrawal may make me feel lethargic. So, if I'm not planning to drink coffee or an energy drink during the exam, I'd taper those two a month before.

On the other hand, if I also suddenly consume an energy drink at the day of the exam and I'm not used to it, I can have palpitations and brain "hyperactivity" that will make it difficult for me to concentrate.

Default Coffee and/or Energy Drinks for the Exam Day!

I prefer coffee because it helps me to stay awake and makes me feel relaxed. Coffee can be a great drink during exam time if taken moderately. I may advice people to go for coffee only instead of unhealthy drinks.

I had frequency in the exam, so i had to take many small rests. Although i did not drink coffee. But after all i think the exam was OK.
