Default Inspiration for the Old IMG

Hello,

I just received my step 3 result and thankfully I passed.

Here is my story and I hope this will inspire those thinking about embarking on this journey. I graduated from med school 11 yrs ago, and practiced briefly before going into investment profession. I have been out of full time practice for 8 yrs and decided last year to pursue residency. I was very rusty, almost zero medical knowledge. However, the brain is an amazing entity with a vast databank. I picked up USMLE books and began the journey, in 7 months I was done with 1, 2ck, and 2 cs. I passed with 240s and all at 1st attempt. Decided to take step 3 to get H1b visa, and passed with 230s.

Here is a breakdown of my strategy:

Step 1 (4 months): DIT + First Aid + Pathoma + UW + NBME (this is all you need to get 240s)

Step 2CK (2.5 months): UW + NBME + Emma Holiday's video and notes + MTB HY Videos + Step 2 Secrets (this is all you need to get 240s)

Step 2 CS (2 weeks): Kaplan 2CS + First Aid 2CS + Practice

Ste 3 (3 months): UW + UW Biostat + Crush Step 3 + Crush Step 3 CCS + MTB + Kaplan Anywhere (I found crush to be the most useful, helped a lot on day 1 and CCS, UW was least useful, Kaplan helped a lot with ObGyn, UW biostat was very good)

And unwavering determination even when it seems your skull is thick, just keep at it.
