Hey there. well it depends what ur long term plans are! If u want to go to america and do ur residency there then i dont see any point in starting ur PG training in India because it will be very difficuly for u to manage time to study(i suppose ur duties will be quite hectic). But then, ur saying ur going to start it next JUNE? so why dont u start studying now? u will be done with at least 1 of ur steps by then! U can see how u do on that abd decide whether u want to stay back or go to the home of the brave and land of the free!

I agree with numbdndum. Definitely use your time now to study. What have you been doing since graduation? Have you done anything medicine-related during your time in the us?

Well i suggest you study for ur step1(or whichever one u want to take first) .. u will b done with everything in 1-2 yrs and u say u plan to go back to the US then.

As far as ur MD pathology is concerned, i dont think the Americans really care what u've done in ur country! im saying that because im frm the Indian sub-continent too and even if ur thr Professor of Medicine here u wl b equal to a simple MBBS graduate!
But did u do any kind of observership or research related to medicine while u wr in the US? If u did, that will certainly enhance ur chances of getting a residency.
So i think u should forget abt the patho thing in India and start studying for the steps!

Default Its a good option

Hi Thangam, Doing MD path in India can be very helpful in getting residency in Pathology in the US. It does carry weight in getting path residency. What have you decided on it?
