J1 Visa J1 For research

Hi everyone,
This is Aravinth.J an IMG from India. I have been selected for a research opportunity in the dept of Anesthesia in Univ of Kentucky..
My DS 2019 form is being currently processed by the dept.
Can anyone pls help me go through the procedures?? Do you need to get the statement of need from the ministry of health affairs, India even for a J1 research??
Thanks in advance,
Love as always,
Aravinth.
