Default Step 3 before applying to do or not?

hi everyone
I am not sure whether to do step 3 before applying
How many imgs have done this and succeeded?
Is this better lets say for community programs?
I really just want to be able to get into a good 3 yr community program in pediatrics
because I am not considering fellowship
i will then pursue other options
because i realized that finishing residency will open more doors for mds in nonclinical related fields than not doing residency at all even phd
but will passing step 3 increase my chances of getting accepted in peds programs or should i just do CS and then get some observership in peds because this is the only kind of usce i can get after i graduate?
im still a final yr student but we must do 1 yr of internship in my country(well it is not really a must since our degree is issued before the internship)
any advice?
thanks all

Yeah, I will take it too. I think it is better as there is no time during residency to study for it!
