Question Step 2 CS failure; Should I give up?

Hey!!

I am an IMG from India. I have 232 and 233 on my firsthand second steps respectively. My year of graduation is 2012. I have continuous clinical experience in a full time job in India. 2 months of USCE. Some research experience in India and an audit. I recently failed my Step 2 CS so didn't apply this year. What are my chances from here on in? Should I try for the match next year or should I just give up. Need some honest advice. Thanks.

How is it possible?
Do you know why did you fail?

I had high graphs on ICE and SEP but failed on CIS. I hadn't practiced enough.

All is not over yet. You have decent scores and apparently a pretty solid CV. You should consider doing Step 3 to augment it even further and apply for residency. I know a good number of my seniors who made it after failing their CS. Many to categorical IM. One guy who matched last year flunked his CS 3 time but still made it albeit in pathology.
So I think that you should respect your own hard work and continue to pursue your goal. All the best.
