Man, Harrison is father of all books. If u know Harrison well, u can crack any pg entrance exam in world. Its not exaggeration. Its a proven fact. It includes almost all knowledge of ALL subjects u should know.

I know Davidson is easier (perhaps due2 much less high yield topics mentioned in it). Harrison has fluidity of language. Easier 2 to understand concepts. If u read 8 hrs a day, u can complete 80% Harrison (most imp) topics in 5 to 6 months. In revision it will take 3 months at all. So in almost 10mnths u can master at least 75% things of Harrison.

Stop What are you doing?

Guys, are you serious!

Nobody can master Harrison's, it's a huge book. You will be wasting your time. You should read high yield USMLE information only because only then you can get good scores in USMLE.

thanks again for your suggestion vagp86, I had already read two units from Harrison ! But In my college the trend is that USMLE oriented students pick up Davidson or local author book to pass the university exam and then study High yield material for USMLE ! therefore I am still confused that I need to read Harrison or Davidson

O man, im telling abt knwldge to crack mst pg entrance exams. As far as usmle is concerned, kaplan is must. Only 4 sources r more than enough to get guaranteed 99. Kaplan lec notes, goljen patho, FA, UW subscription of 2 or 3 months.

Remember 1 thing, if u r targeted towards usmle, dnt even try harisn or davidsn. It wl nt only waste yr time , bt also wl help less than 4 sources.

Davidsons is an absolutely fantastic reference book, but its that, a REFERENCE book. If you try to learn absolutely every last fact within, you will find yourself lost and spending so much time going into unnecessary detail.
Another book to include in this category has to be Kumar's, another great and ranks about the same level as Davidsons (i.e. which one you pick becomes personal preference)
