Default Exam eligibilty period before credential verification

I am an IMG planning to appear for MLE (decided recently). I got the ECFMG ID number and then proceeded to apply for the exam. While filling the forms, I put the eligibility period as April to June 2014. I did this because I was under the false impression that credential verification and exam scheduling can be done concurrently. Now I realize my folly. My Med school in India is not under EMSWP and they say it may take at least 4 months to get the credentials verified. I have already paid for the exam (Step 1) and put my eligibility period as April to June 2014. It is highly unlikely that I will get my credentials verified in that period.
What is the best option for me now
- Is it to extend the dates to contiguous July to Sept period? But I am not very sure whether credential verification will be over by then?

- Can anybody suggest an solution for this problem
Thanks in advance
