Default Too late to start for 2015 Match?

Hello,
This is more of a decision making / affirmation type of question. Really appreciate your feedbacks.
I haven't done any of steps and am just starting my prep for the USMLE. I'm still hoping to give it a try to enter 2015 Match, since I really don't want to waste another year. My question is:
1- From your experience is it possible to do all the three exams (1+CK+CS) by the end of this year (roughly 7 months)? From the polls it seems the minimum time would be around 9.5 months, so a bit more than what I have.
2- Getting ECFMG certified by early 2015, would I have any reasonable chance to get a match?
Some background:
OLD IMG (2002)
Have been in academia since (MSc and PhD in genetics from one of the top 10 Univ).
Currently doing part time postdoctoral research.
I can study 10+ hours/day

Many thanks

ITs different from person to another,. Most people won't do it but that shouldn't discourage you, if I was you I would focus more on my research and try to get USCE as much as possible and do the rest later,. But who knows,. If you have some clinical experience then it might help to speed up the process of taking all the steps

I wouldnt say you have the time to be able to take the steps properly, become ecfmg certified and apply on time. Application for 2015 match starts on september 2014. On 15th september, programs start downloading the applications and they usually close shop between october-december, some might go a little further.

Its also best to take your time for the steps. They are tough, you can only take them once (unless you fail, which will also close many doors), and they are VERY important.

My suggestion is to plan accordingly, and do not rush it. You are good for starting your residency on 2016. Focus on that objective, and you will be a good applicant
