Arrow No more 99s

I've just got an email from ECFMG saying that starting July 1st they will no longer be using the 2 digits scale in USMLE score reporting ,only the 3 digits one .
wanted to be the first one to tell you & also wants to know is that a good thing or a bad thing & what difference will that make ????!!!
For me I think it's a good thing.

Yes, I got it too...then ..its going to be complex...because earlier many program directors used to put criteria like ..candidates above 90 for interview..
.Now what is going to be new criteria God knows? these going to affect because two digit and 3 digit did not correlated well ...because candidates with lower 3 digit also used to have higher 99s...

dont know what are they could have been like this... that those who have both score apply with both scores and those who have 3 digit only effective this july ..apply with that 3 digit....
may be next time AMA discard IMGs to get into setting visa criteria......what are doing what ever they like jeopardizing things..may be few get benifit....its confusing..

Nothing has changed really. You are still going to get both your 3 digit and 2 digit scores on your report. And 2 digit scores will still be reported to licensing boards. Only the 3 digit will be sent to residency programs. I think one should still aim for a 99 since it's the highest 2 digit score.
So not much change really....
