Question What type of ID at the Prometic Center?

I want to know if passport is the only id acceptable at the Prometric center in Gurgaon India?
As I don't have my passport right now and it won't even be available by the time of my exam so will they accept any other identification?

Unfortunately the only acceptable identification in centers outside the US is your passport showing your name matching exactly your name in ECFMG records. If you have Green Card or US citizen / driving license I guess this will be good. If you have an official identification Indian card showing your name in English then email a copy of it to the center OTHERWISE you need to postpone your exam.

goodluck

a copy will not work neither a national ID, you may contact the embassy and ask them to give back to you for 2 days, I hope your problem will be solved soon.

What I know...that if you don't have ID proof paper...you can print a special paper from ECFMG or Prometric center ( I forgot which one).
But I am sure that I read this in ECFMG Q & A...go to their website & read all topics related to ID.

Good Luck

I have found this under acceptable identification and it does states that i can use national driving licence though it does not state that whether its for in use in america only or else where also...can u pls explain regarding this applicant guide and others?? its really of great help!!

Acceptable Identification

Your name as it appears on your scheduling permit and your form(s) of identification must match exactly. Since your name on the scheduling permit appears in the Latin alphabet (in “English language letters”), the name on your identification must also appear in the Latin alphabet. The spelling of the name on your scheduling permit must match exactly the spelling of the name on the form(s) of identification you present at the test center. If the names do not match as described above, you will not be allowed to take the exam. See Name of Applicant.

The form of identification you present must be one of the forms of unexpired, government-issued identification listed below that contains your name in the Latin alphabet, your signature, and your recent (no more than 10 years earlier) photograph. The following forms of identification are acceptable, only if they meet all of these requirements:

Passport
Driver’s license with photograph
National identity card
Other form of dated, unexpired, government-issued identification that meets all of these requirements

If your identification contains your name in the Latin alphabet and your photograph but not your signature, you can use another form of unexpired identification that contains your signature, such as a student/employee identification card or a credit card, to supplement your photo-bearing, government-issued identification.

If you do not have acceptable identification, as described above, that contains your name in the Latin alphabet, you can apply for an ECFMG Identification Card (EIC). You may use a valid EIC in place of one of the forms of identification listed above to gain admittance to the test center on the date of your exam. To receive an EIC, you must complete an ECFMG Identification Card Request Form (Form 180), available from ECFMG upon request. To request Form 180, you must submit a written request to ECFMG (see Communicating with ECFMG) after you have been registered for examination. ECFMG will not provide Form 180 to individuals who are not registered for examination. Each EIC is valid for one testing appointment only and will be collected at the test center at the end of your testing appointment

OK MY FRIEND JUST RELAX , YOU HAVE GOT THINGS COVERED , I RAN INTO VERY SIMILAR SITUATION ,
WELL IF YOU HAVE YOU drivers license , ( no matter if it is issued in India) and you name on your license matches exactly the name you used in ecfmg . than they will accept it and you can take your exam , no passport required.
so chill dude , and relax , all the best ..

As long as it has your name and signature it is valid.

Your identification must contain both your signature and recent (no more than 10 years earlier) photograph. If it contains your photograph but not your signature, you can use another form of unexpired identification that contains your signature, such as a student/employee identification card or a credit card, to supplement your photo-bearing, governmentissued identification.

Call the Prometric Center where you are going to take the exam in. Ask them what you can do.
I think they'll ask you for a secondary ID if your passport does not have a signature.
