Listening Drinking Coffee while preparing for USMLE

I just want to know drinking coffee while in a studying period (either during study or at breaks) is beneficial or not.

As all of you know, there are pros and cons with it. While it helps you to stay awake, it also increases stress levels as i know. Since we already have enough stress due to exams, then why to increase it more =)

Please share your ideas and say whether you drink coffee or not.

Me? Yes, i usually drink coffee at almost all breakfasts. But i stopped to drink so often in these days.

Hello
For me...i struggled with this...at some point i became insomnic and i diagnosed myself as "excessive caffeine intake", so i cut off the amounts and used a lighter and decafe types...
I really don't see and benefits because one needs 6-7 hours of sleep with or without coffee...
just be aware not to over consume...Good luck

It all depends on the person. Your body gets accustomed to the amount of caffeine you take daily, and if you don't take it you feel drowsy.
Personally I don't drink any coffee anytime. Only sometimes I do, when I just feel like, but it has nothing to do with me being feeling sleepy or the need to concentrate during studies.
Sometimes I do have tea in the evening, and tea has a lesser amount of caffeine in it than coffee. But I don't have any regular habit of taking coffee or tea in the morning or anytime else just to charge me up. That's partly because my body has not gotten accustomed to the daily load of caffeine. If I feel sleepy or something, I just wash my face and eyes a couple of times and Voila I am fresh !
