Certificate Letters of recommendation question

Hi guys
I'm planning on getting a LoR from my home country as well but I was wondering what is considered an OLD LoR? I mean, what if you get a LoR in 2011 and you are applying for the 2013 match. Is it considered old? I hope not.Cus the opportunity to get one in my case will be in 2011. I can't have it saying 2013 :S Would 2012 be better?

Hi add1
You can only ask the writer to update the date later ,with 2012 on it if you are going for 2013 match. It will do the work since many have done that before

I doubt it'll make a difference anyways, its a foreign LOR, so it doesn't hold that much weight
