Help What to do next?

I just took my CS yesterday, and by that I'm done with Step 1 and 2 (CK and CS). I have high scores in both. I'm here in the US, but I'm not sure what to do next. I thought about getting into a research program to enhance my chances for Radiology (which people are telling me is impossible to get into for IMGs). Is this a good idea? And what type of research would be really useful? and is it easy to get into one here in Chicago, IL?

Also, should I start preparing for Step 3 now?

Some people here recommended that I go back home, prepare for Step 3, and then come back in November to take Step 3 and attend the interviews for the match. Bear in mind that I'm on a B1/2 visa and I have to leave in December (although some people told me I can extend my stay). Is this a good idea?

I'm sorry if my inquiries are vague, but I'm not really sure what to do at the moment.

I'd appreciate your insight.
Thanks.

Yeah..go back to your home, Egypt & prepare for step 3..May be you will miss it after the match.
But be aware, Radiology is difficult.

It's a very good article, but it seems the guy interviewed started doing research early on when he was in India, and continued doing it in the US. I think a couple of months of research now in this critical time before the match would be difficult to achieve, or am I mistaken?

if you do it from a good institute like hopkins or harvard (you can get with high scores) it might help.... and sometimes they do include your name in their publication....as publication is what really matters.....
