Default UK 2014 graduate- need advice re LORs please :)

Hi everyone, new here!
Sooo I have a question about my LoRs as I'm quite at a loss as to what to do. Basically a little bit about my background- graduated from Edinburgh in the UK this year in July, am now working as a house officer in the UK. I have a 2 year contract and would like to finish this training before I go to the US as I think the experience is valuable. I did my Step 1 in 2013 and passed- 232. Haven't done CK/CS. I did a 2 month elective in Columbia in NYC Jan-Feb 2014 and managed to get 3 attendings to write me LoRs. I didn't take a copy with me because that would mean waiving my rights. At the time when I requested the letters I wasn't sure what I wanted to do/where I wanted to practise so I just left it with the attendings that I would email them back to get them to upload it if I was applying to the US.

Now my plan is to apply for the Match in 2016/7. 2 of the professors are retiring and the other has moved on to Pharmaceuticals. Would it be wise to just ask them to mail me a paper copy of my LoRs so I know I have a copy? Even if it would be dated 2014 when I apply? Also I don't have an AAMC number or anything yet so that won't be included in the LoR right now. If anyone could give any advice, would be so so grateful! Thanks!!
