Default malpractice insurance for clerkship

i am interested in doing a clerkship in any branch in any medical school,
but as i went through the requirements for application of clerkship i was informed i needed a malpractice insurance of 1.5 million dollars

can anyone explain me about this criteria

Usually, these programs require $1mm/$3mm occurrence coverage.

I've actually gotten coverage from Lancet Insurance and Nexus Insurance for my rotations in the past. If you're currently in medical school, sometimes you are covered under your school's policy and I would highly suggest looking into that as it would be quite cheaper.

I personally would not pay more than $250-300/mo though I've seen ridiculous #s in the past. Hope this helps!

I don't know about Lancet but Nexus no longer provides insurance services for short term.
I got the insurance via academic medical group, they charge about 250$ for a month and are reliable, another cheaper option is IMG liability.
