Info confused about clerkship timing

Hi guys
I am an Indian who is doing MBBS/MD in Ukraine.
let me brief you about the course first
course duration- 6 years ( excluding internship)
which means i will have to go to india and do my internship
I am currently in my 3rd year

i wanted to know when can i apply for
clerkship
observership
externship etc

cause most of the sites specify that the applicant sould be in the last yr of education
and in ukraine its next to impossible to take off in the 6th yr
and secondly i would like to ask what is a core clerkship ??

You can apply for clerkships and observerships while you are in med school. After graduation is when you can start applying for externships. Core clerkships and electives are taken during your third and fourth year as part of your medical school curriculum. Externships are open to just IMGs, who are no longer looking for credit and not eligible for clerkships/electives as they are out of medical school already.
