Default Matching OB/GYN as an IMG??!

Hi there,

I'm beginning to really worry about my possibility to match in OB/GYN. I have an USMLE step 1 score of 229, does that automatically take me out of the game? I have checked the average matching scores from previous years and I am well within limits but somehow everybody on these forums seems to think matching surgery is somewhat of an unachievable dream if you don't have colossal step 1 scores. What do you guys think? Any tips for ways to improve my chances? ( I am graduating this year and will be aiming for higher scores on my CK). Thanks!

Having USCE in your speciality is a good way to improve your chances at getting matched.
