Default Please give some guidance

Hello I am an IMG from India and I graduated last year in August (2015). I took my step 1 in September (2015) and got 240 in that and then I did 2 months observership and gave CS in Feb (2016) and passed in first attempt. I was supposed to give CK in July (2016) to apply for match this year but due to some family problems I wasn't able to study and hence won't be able to take my exam on time. Due to this my gap year will increase to 2 years. How will this affect my chances of gettin a residency in IM and what should I do to make my CV look better ? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so much in advance

It would be have been ideal if you could have finished step 2 and applied this year, especially cause your timeline was perfectly planned for this years match. But nothing is ever ideal I guess. Get a good score in ck and step 3 like you have on step 1, try for a couple of months more of USCEspecifically to make contacts in the program thatwould help you out when the time comes. Most places as you might have already known have a 5 year grad cut off, so two years is not really that big of a deal (though more competitive programs might prefer recent grads)

@saxo yeah this is the first time things didn't go as planned. :no_mouth: so anyways now I will try and get some more USCE in teaching hospitals if possible and get a good CK score. Hopefully everything works out. Thank you for your help
