Default College not listed on the world directory/ IMED

Hello,

I'm an IMG studying in a new college in saudi arabia, my batch will be the first batch to graduate, keep in mind that my college is recognized and accredited in my country.

It just came to my attention that my college is not listed on the World directory of medical schools or IMED, this is very concerning to me since I was planning to take my USMLE STEP 1

My question is if a college didn't graduate any batches yet, could it be listed?
Also my school is recognized from the medical body in Saudi Arabia, so shouldn't it be automatically listed,?

And finally is their anything that could be done in order to get my college listed

If you have any information and can help me please do.

Thank you

I hate to be a downer, but I think it's not possible for you to take the USMLE if you're school is not in the list of accredited schools even if it's accredited in your own country... And even if your school does one day get accredited in the US, let's say for example it gets accredited in 2017 and you had already started studying in this same school before that set date, your degree still probably won't be accredited. At least that's what I know, maybe you can go to the ECFMG site for more info. Or if some more experienced users can give more information that would be nice too. Honestly for me, I made sure my school in China was accredited before I even started studying here just to be on the safe side.

I faced the same situation. Your college CAN be registered even if no batch has passed out yet. You need to contact your college office and inform them of the formalities required. They should contact some other college which is already in the directory and ask them about the procedure. Or they should contact the National Medical Council which is responsible for getting the college's name in the directory. Usually the process completes in a few months.
Also, there is no such thing that if your college is not in the directory after you have started it, your degree will not be accredited. Once your college is in the directory, you are in the directory.

Not really, if a college is in the list all the batches mentioned will be accredited.
