Default Really Scared U world score is fluctuating and is not improving

Im 2 months out of my step 1 exam and i gave nbme 15 2 weeks ago. I got a 220 so I was disappointed. I've been getting mid 60s in uworld and my scores are not improving. I struggle in anatomy, micro and biochem. Please help! is FA enough for these things or no? Anatomy seems so minor in FA. For Uworld, my score can be a low 57 or a high 75. Im not consistent at all. What should I do??

So for Micro and Biochem, FA its more than enough but remember (cell biology, and genetics are included in biochem) so those ones should be less memorized and more understood (chromsomes and hereditability is by memory). Again Translation, transcription things like that, cell cycle, lab techniques are things that if you don not completely get them, you should read a little about them. Also histology is greatly undermined and should be studied more.
NBME questions are associated or joined in a categorical basis with pathology questions or other categories (that is you get twice as wrong questions instead of just a single or even more wrong questions)
NBME doesnt grade your exam on percentages but on categories. You could try do an excel and see what questions you got wrong and by that I mean put all the categories and see if you have multiple categorical encompassing questions wrong or just single category questions.
My advice is try to get good on every category and keep consistent your good ones. Dont leave those topics you dont like for the end, again they could be the key for getting a good score.
For Uworld, your fine, it happens to all of us. Your oscillation signifies inconsistency. Again, you could rely on your percentages of Uworld, which frankly dont make sense that much cumulatively because your are getting better with time (so average is not precise). Instead try to make a excel also and do 8 blocks or 4 and see what categories your are getting wrong. (Those last 4 or 8 blocks are your cumultaive score)
Or even another one is buying kaplan and doing all biochem questions.(kaplan is good on this one)

Ok first of all, please relax. You scored a 220 on an nbme and you are panicking? That's ridiculous... Try flash cards for the concepts that require memorization which in fact is micro and and biochem. Draw out some of the pathways and enzymes you don't understand until it starts making sense. You are on the right track, a 220 on nbme is really good!! Keep up the good work and you'll improve! I wish I had 220 on NBME.. Jeez...

Edit: We have the same exact thing going on by the way, my uworld scores fluctuate pretty dramatically. From high 50s to mid 70s on the same day even. That shows we have some weaknesses that we need to work on. Keep reading FA.

For Biochem,

i would do the revision again before doing question. Go through your notes. Molecular biology Review + biochem pathway review go hand in hand, first do those and make sure you know your pathways metabolisms in and out and what disorders or so associated with those.

Once you are comfortable with those, then do the questions again and see if it improve. You need to stop doing a question if your scores are not improving and need to do ONE COMPLETE thorough revision of subjects especially biochem. Don't miss those easy questions.
