Default Should I stop?

IMG, just got step 1 result = 235, months before step 2.
I want a university linked program (more academia)
4 years of research experience with 3 publications.
2 LORs from US doctors. 3 months of hands on clinical experience through my school.
YOG 2014
I see that the mean for IMGs 2016 was 236. Should I focus to get past a 250 in CK? Also step 3? Or just drop my chances?

Thanks for the replies.

Do not give up. A 235 with step one is not a bad score. Try to gain a 3rd US LoR. You must make connections and have assistance along the way. Have any of your rotations been hospital hands on?

Yes 1 of my rotations was hands on for 3 months. I had to see patient and take notes plus H&P, discuss patients, etc.

Thank you for replying

How do I get another LOR? Rotation? How to even get a rotation after graduating?

You must either find a program you can directly apply to. You can also go the path of the paid service to find a program. I have gone with a paid service for my rotations

Default Don't give up!

235 is not a bad score! We have seen a lot of our clients match with lower scores. Get cracking on your Step 2 studying and line up a few rock-solid rotations to make your application even better. Note that 45 -50% of IMGs match, so you are in good shape as far as your score. Work the numbers, consult the nrmp.org match data for some probability, and go to work on the next phases of the process.
