Question Work For IMG's

Hi

I'm an international medical graduate and I would like to know that with my medical degree can I get a job in the United States. Like a physician assistant or a lab technician?

I'll be studying for exams, but I still need work experience. Someone please point me in the right direction.

These count as work experience but not as USCE. I think you can find a job. You don't need ECFMG certification for these jobs.
In fact I'm looking for one right now for reasons of my own but I've also planned a few externships to get USCE.

I don't know which one you want guidance on?
On the job front, I'm shooting in the dark. I've posted on every job portal I could find on the net: Linked In, Glassdoor, Monster..
For USCE I've used the services of Americlerkships. So far they have been highly professional in my dealings with them and have procured me 3 good Hands on Externships but they are a bit expensive. They are the primary reason I'm looking for a job, because my finances have become weak after enrolling with them.

Whatever you decide, Good luck! If you have any luck on the job front, please inform me too. Thanks

@EmTeeWy I just found out that a lot of Biomedical Labs allow IMGs to work on their clinical trials without ECFMG certification. I'm directing my search and modifying my CV in that direction. Hope it helps.
One of my acquaintances was working at LA BioMed, look it up on the net. She said that it is possible but didn't give me any specifics and I didn't bother her further because she is a bit busy with her Step 3 prep.

That's great, thanks for information. Right now I'm studying for my steps so I won't have to look into it but I'll make to consider that when the time is right. Thanks again for your continuous help.

Same here. I have Step 1 in about 2 weeks. So I'll look into it after that.
Gluck!

Hi, I am a recent graduate ( 2011 April) and came to USA in June 2011 on family based worked permit visa. I worked in a gas station and a RESTURANT as a part time for my financial support for around 6 months. I finished my steps ( 1, 2 ck & cs in May 2012) and then 3 months clinical rotations in a hospital. Right now I am engaged in a clinical research. I am wondering if I should include the work in gas station and RESTURANT in my ERAS application, because if I don't, there will be a gap of almost one whole year. Please give me your views if I should include it in ERAS or not? Please step-taker or somebody truly help me decide! Thank you ! I heard non-medical related works can be counter productive!

I posted this somewhere else in the forum just to emphasize its important for me to decide what to do, apologize for any inconvenience !
