Question MRCS in US

hi... my frend needs help figuring out how to proceed with her further studies in US... thank u in advance for ur help...=)...

1. After completing MBBS ( including 1 year internship) in India; is it possible for the candidate to perceive her MRCS study in US? This MRCS needs at least some mandatory clinical experience whether this can be obtained in US? [USMLE not attempted ].

2. If it is possible is there any specific hospitals / Institutions for the same or anywhere it can be done? MRCS shall be done by registering on line at the site and completing the mandatory papers with the necessary clinical experience totally it will take 3 years this is what I understood.

3. The main question is without USMLE this clinical experience shall be obtained in US or not?

You cannot do that in USA.

First, USA does not recognize MRCS or any other overseas postgrad degree.

Second, you cannot have clinical practice (even training) in USA without doing USMLE and being ECFMG certified and then getting accepted into 3-4 years of residency training.

So if you are looking for general surgery then you have to do general surgery residency in USA (which is very competitive for IMGs), and if you do that, then at that time there's no need for MRCS.

1. NO

I think that results in a meaningless answer for questions 2 & 3.
