Smile From how many years after graduation is one considered an old graduate

How long after graduation is one considered an old graduate. I'm a Nigerian, still in medical school right now, but I intend to do 1 year internship in my country and the one year compulsory youth service. I'll take usmle exams during my youth service, so dat's almost 2 yrs after graduation.

graduation is counted only after your internship.. so i guess you will be writing your first step immediately after your graduation...and tats perfect....

Correct Answer

This thread said it's five years for most residency programs The 5 Years after Graduation Cut off!. But for what I gathered from other threads, it's not an absolute thing. Even if you are considered old, it is actually a plus in some residencies and you still stand a chance to match. Thanks for the extra info shushma
