Default List of programs only sponsoring H1b

Hey everyone,

Does anyone have a list of programs that only sponsor H1b visas, in addition to J1? I need a visa, and I won't be eligible for J1.

I tried Freida, but it doesn't give me many programs.

Thanks

Why wouldn't you be eligible for a J1? I thought ECFMG sponsored that one.

J1 visa requires the so called "Letter of Needs" from home country or last permanent residence. I need to get home certification for that, which requires clearing their exams. Bullcrap!

There may be a slight chance, but I am not counting on it. It seems quite far fetched.

That's the reason I am opting for h1b instead to not get into that crap.

One more thing. Lets say the program sponsors me for j1 but then I tell them during the paperwork I can't get that letter. Will they be willing to shift to h1b cause I am ineligible for j1? Have u heard such a case?

Thanks a lot.

Default h1b

I am also in the same situation and cant get "statement of need" letter from my home country. How did it go Smashing dude? I am thinking of applying only to programs that sponsor h1b visa.

Let's say I get matched to a program that only sponsor j1 visa. What are the chances of them sponsoring a h1b visa for me because I am not able to get the "statement of need" letter and cant apply for j1.

I think application should not be aimless but rather targeted. In ur case no need to apply to programs that sponsor only J1. Some programs don't sponsor h1b no matter wat, they think it's not needed for residency. So pls avoid those unless u can get letter of need. Correction here, the letter of need is sent to ecfmg not the programs, before a final document of sponsorship is released to the school u matched to. I think the programs cannot do anything about it. It's ecfmg matter.
